A Timeline of the Wellesley College Botanic Gardens History

The mural and complementary panels were painted in the fall of 2025 as a celebration of the centennial anniversary of the Wellesley College Botanic Gardens, founded in 1925. The form of the fern follows the rich history of the gardens, including important moments such as greenhouse construction to collections policy updates and more. The newly reworked mission is placed near the right side of the mural, where the fern is yet to be unfurled.
